Survivor 23 South Pacific Season Finale: Loyalties will be broken

And this is it, a wrap an another season of Survivor, a pretty great one despite a couple of dull episodes and for the first time in many seasons (probably since Todd Herzog winning Survivor China) I’m genuinely happy with the winner who won’t be named for a few more lines in case you haven’t watched the season finale yet (but after the picture, many spoilers ahead, you’ve been warned).   So let’s see what happened to our last remaining contestants during this last episode.   - Albert Destrade: I kinda feel bad for Albert. I mean, the guy doesn’t seem like a bad dude, but he really fooled himself Continue reading »

South Pacific – Episode 14: Then There Were Five

Was it a crazy episode or not? Or was it a normal episode full of crazy people? Ok, at least one crazy person and one pretending to be for some reason. In any case, I enjoyed every single minute of it. The Tuna Tribe         - Albert Destrade: It was pretty interesting to see everything blow up to his face this week. All season long he’s tried to make a big move and all season long he never managed to make a single one. And this is when he tried to turn against who seemed to be his number one ally – Sophie – that everyone else Continue reading »

South Pacific – Episode 13: Ticking Time Bomb

Hey everyone, I’m back! I’m finally moved in my new apartment and I finally have an internet connection back. So, where were we? Cochran betrayed Savaii and didn’t turn that to his advantage and get screwed by Honor & Integrity as soon as they got the chance. Actually, here is my take on the whole Honor & Integrity thing; only Brandon believes it. I means, he betrays and lies as much as everyone else (possibly even a bit more), but he believes he doesn’t. Albert and Sophie just pretend they’re on board with that, but it’s just a facade. Rick believes… What does Rick believe? If you know, please, Continue reading »

South Pacific – Episode 8: Double Agent

What an episode! I had goose bumps at tirbal council. That hadn’t happened in many seasons. Heroes Vs Villains maybe? Love, love, love this season. I’m now sure it will end up being one of the best ever. So were do I start? Maybe by the fact that I’m blogging this week when I told you last week I was not going to? Well, how could I not blog about this episode!? Ok, to be honest, I wish I was not in a position to blog this week, but instead of having landed in Japan two hours ago and now enjoying a nice dinner with my Japanese family I’m Continue reading »

South Pacific – Episode 7: Trojan Horse

Wow. Did we all see that? Did we all see Ozzy Lusth make the dumber move in Survivor history? Erik Reichenbach must be a happy man today. Ok, to be honest we don’t know what will happen, but while it has the potential to be an impressive move, it has much more potential to be comically devastating to Ozzy. In any case, this season definitely delivers, and this episode, once again, is the perfect example of why I love this show. The other day we talked about big blindsides, this week it was the drama (a little) and the big move that will come down in history no matter the outcome. Continue reading »

South Pacific – Episode 6: Free Agent

Another good episode this week, I now have a very good feeling about this season, it may just stay good, possibly even great until the end. I know I repeat myself, but casting people who applied and are fans of the show, actually makes a difference, doesn’t it? We’re now slowly approaching the merge, and those “soon to be a merge” episodes are usually very interesting as they tend to shape the rest of the season. Look what we had for the past three seasons. Episode 6 was about the time when Boston Rob had reached total control of his tribe while Zapatera was starting their self-destruction, in Nicaragua, Continue reading »

South Pacific – Episode 5: Taste the Victory

I’m back home just in time for an amazing episode of Survivor. Definitely the best one since Heroes Vs Villains. This is because of those kinds of episode that I’m a fan of this show, it had everything you can ask for: good character development, an epic challenge, a big move, and even the redemption island part was almost interesting. So without further ado, let’s see what there is to say about it.   Savaii     Gosh, at the beginning of the season I was so scared this tribe was going to be Ometepe 2.0. Thank you Jim and Cochran for not letting this happen.   – Dawn Continue reading »

Alright, alright, I know I’m late, very late, white rabbit style late. Thing is, as I told you last week, I’m not currently home, and while I managed to watch this week’s episode I hadn’t had the time to blog about it until now. First I thought I was not going to blog about it at all, but it was a very good episode (especially with such a predictable boot) so better late than never right?  (however, it’s going to be short and picture-less analysis) So as I said, good episode this week. I hope production finally understands that having a cast comprised of people who know and love the Continue reading »

South Pacific – Episode 3: Reap What You Sow

Ok, I was on a small trip yesterday and today, I recently got back home, I’ve just finished watching the episode and I’m pretty tired, so it’ll be a small analysis, although I’m not too sure it would have been much longer in other circumstances as this episode was more or less the first bad one of the season, and I hope this won’t start a trend like it did last season. What didn’t I like during this episode? Well, mostly the fact that the editors have decided, once again, to focus on only a handful of contestants, pushing the other ones in the background as mere extras. The Continue reading »

South Pacific – Episode 2: He Has Demons

So far so good. Two very good episodes in a row, we haven’t had that in a long time. The two returning players don’t hog too much of camera time and Phillip is not here to take the rest of the air time. Actually most of the cast is pretty interesting to have me interested in this season whatever happens. Good. (although I’m keeping my fingers crossed and I’m knocking on wood, last season first two episodes were good too, they were the only ones)   Savaii     As usual, the tribe that wins immunity gets less air time, so not much about them and not a lot of Continue reading »
