One World Finale - Perception is not always reality

And this is it, we have a winner for Survivor One World. Congratulations to Kim Spradlin who played one of the most dominant and best game ever. I mean it. So without much further ado, let’s see what final words we have to say about the finalists and the jury (and Probst during the Reunion show).     The Final Three   Sabrina Thompson: I always assumed that Sabrina had a good chance of winning the game. The only thing that told me she wouldn’t was the editing. In the end, she ended up being more of a goat that we thought so. She never really was a decision Continue reading »

One World - Episode 13: It's Human Nature

Strange episode, that hinted something big would happen (Chelsea getting blindsided, Tarzan winning it all) but in the end, it was very predictable indeed. I still enjoyed it. I gotta warn you in advance: sorry it’s going to be a short and quite uninspired analysis, I’ve been very busy these past few days with not much sleep and it’s kinda taking it’s toll right now. I’ll try to make up for it on Monday for my final analysis.   Tikiano     - Alicia Rosa: Like last week, she’s bringing some entertainment with her delusions about controlling the game, but apart from that her obnoxious general attitude has really gotten me Continue reading »

One World – Episode 12: It's gonna be chaos

Ok, I’m back after last week’s hiatus (did watch the show, just didn’t have time to write about it). Today, despite, an eventful day (I went there and there in case you care) I can manage to do both. Yeah! Before we move on to this week’s episode, a few words about last week’s: Yes, I have to admit that I was hoping that Troyzan would pull out a miracle, but deep inside I knew he wouldn’t. For some reason he doesn’t seem too popular on the web, but I have to admit that I really like him. Sure, he made some mistakes (voting out Jonas was his biggest Continue reading »

One World – Episode 10: I'm no Dummy

Rarely I’ve found an episode so predictable and yet so interesting. I guess I should say kuddos to the editors for that. Although, they’re also guilty of making it quite predictable, as since the first seconds in, it was obvious that Troyzan wouldn’t be voted out this week, despite the fact that he should have. Apart from that, yeah I wish that he had succeeded in pulling an upset, but we knew he wouldn’t, and we knew Leif was voted out this week.     Tikiano   - Alicia Rosa: Does Alicia really think that she’s not number five in the women’s alliance? Or does she think she also would Continue reading »

One World - Episode 9: Go Out with a Bang

I gotta say I liked this episode. Sure, the results of the vote were not as crazy as all the scrambling going on just before (although, Tarzan voted against Jay: WTF?), but everything that led up to tribal council was what makes a great episode. Some great moves, some dumb moves, a lot of strategizing, and we have no idea who will go home when we arrive at tribal council (I thought they were going to pull a big surprise and have us see Kim being blindsided, although it was very unlikely I admit). However, it’s crazy that at this point of the game, five people received votes. And Continue reading »

One World – Episode 8: Just Annihilate Them

A pretty interesting episode tonight. Not an amazing one, but one where two players made huge mistakes (Troy and Chelsea), and where Kim played like the very best players this game has seen. At first, I was pretty confused by tonight’s vote. Not by the fact that Mike was sent packing. No, just by who voted for whom and why. It didn’t completely match the edit. Troyzan and Jay being adamant voting against a woman (most likely Christina) and ending up voting for Mike. Christina and Alicia voting together (!?) against Tarzan. Leif not being out of the loop and actually voting against Mike. That really confused me for Continue reading »

One World - Episode 7: The Beauty in a Merge

I say it pretty much every season, but the game really start at the merge. It’s not always true. The game can even get boring at this point until the final five or six when we face pagongings like last season. However, this season I have the feeling we could have a few great episodes ahead. Don’t you agree? Also, it felt good to have an episode sans Colton. If we could get rid of Alicia soon, it’d be perfect.   Tikiano   - Alicia Rosa: Not much about her this week except for some randomn drunk comment at the beginning of the episode. She’s not totally disposable and Continue reading »

One World - Episode 6: Thanks for the Souvenir

I should be happy, I should be overjoyed, Colton is out and it was painful. The problem is that the first half of this episode was almost as painful to watch as it is to have an appendicitis (I got my appendix removed too, so Kat, if you read this, I can explain if you want). There has been a lot of evil characters on Survivor, most of them we love to hate. But evil people. It’s different. And gosh, Colton and Alicia are indeed two horrible human beings. We got rid of one this week, and while it made me happy (yes, this is how bad Colton Continue reading »

One World – Episode 5: A Bunch of Idiots

To switch tribes or to not switch tribes. Always a question Survivor producers must be asking themselves at this point of the game. Not switching create pagongings, solid large alliances that go to the end, in other words not great TV, but more “logical” developments in my opinion. On the other hand, switching keeps things fresh, allow for more complex strategies and more unstable alliances. On the other hand, interesting dynamics ans storylines get thrown off the window. In the situation we had there, I still think having a switch then was the right choice, as it was clear that no switch would have led to two solid Continue reading »

One World – Episode 4: Bum-Puzzled

Usually, before starting this blog post, I read a thing or two about other people’s reactions about the episode. Not tonight (yes, it’s nighttime on my side of the planet). I’ve just finished watching the episode and I’m blogging right away about it. Why is that? Because that episode left a strange taste in my mouth, and I kinda feel the need to talk about it fresh from external influences. Survivor has seen its share of awkward or uncomfortable moments, but this episode will definitely stay in history for me. And no, I’m not talking of what could have been the stupidest move in Survivor history, because deciding to Continue reading »
